Iran's government is a theocratic republic government, which is a form of government in which God or a deity is recognized as the supreme civil ruler (chart shows how leaders gain power). Iran declared it's independence on April 1, 1979. Iran's official name is Islamic Republic of Iran, and it's local name is Jomhuri-ye Eslami-ye Iran. It's national anthem is Soroud-e Melli-ye Jomhouri-ye Eslami-ye Iran.
Government Goals
Iran has several goals for it's country. According to UNDP, Iran has 17 goals that are aiming to improve it's country. These goals are no poverty, zero hunger, good health and well-being, quality education, gender equality, clean water and sanitation, affordable and clean energy, decent work and economic growth, industry, innovation, and infrastructure, reduced inequality, sustainable cities and communities, responsible consumption and production, climate action, life below water, life on land, peace, justice, and strong institutions, and partnership for the goals (image below).
